07/02/2008 Royal Mail Special Delivery - latest developments
The proposed changes to the Special Delivery Next Day service are getting closer to a conclusion. It now seems likely that a two tier service will be approved.
The trade is hopeful that Royal Mail will continue to provide compensation up to £500 for parcels containing jewellery. The current limit is up to £2,500 for the next day service.
The proposed and 2nd tier service offering better security is intended for higher value parcels with compensation levels of £1,000 and £2,500.
GJIS and the insurers they use will be keeping a close watch on the subject and will keep you advised of any developments and how this may or may not impact upon their policyholders.
